NG62SE 3 c. 65 23

A Middle Bronze Age flanged axe (Class II) was found in 1932 by Master Lachlan Robertson, Lower Breakish, 33" deep in a peat moss, some 600 yds inland from the shore at Broadford Bay.

It is now in the Hunterian Museum, University of Glasgow. (Accession no: A.1942.1)

(long-flanged axe: Broadford variant of Caverton type). Single find. Flanged axe, smooth, black, hammered blade; length 117mm, butt 23mm, cutting edge 52mm, weight 250 gms. Hunterian Museum, Glasgow (B.1942.1).
