NT96NW 45 9147 6868

Site recorded during a rapid coastal survey undertaken by GUARD of the S shore of the Firth of Forth from Dunbar to Stirling and along the N shore of the Forth to the Fife border. A gazetteer of all sites including listed buildings, designed landscapes, scheduled and unscheduled monuments was produced. Full details of the survey can be consulted in the report held by the NMRS.

GUARD 1996

A rectangular building platform was noted on the west side of the path up to the lighthouse. It measures about 13m by 9m. It has been cut into the side of the slope about 1m on the north side and built up 1m on the south. There is nothing shown here in the 1st edition OS map.

This platform may be one of the greens of the golf course that formerly (before the First World War) occupied this area.
