NT67NW 79 6149 7859 to 6335 7856

Site recorded during a rapid coastal survey undertaken by GUARD of the S shore of the Firth of Forth from Dunbar to Stirling and along the N shore of the Forth to the Fife border. A gazetteer of all sites including listed buildings, designed landscapes, scheduled and unscheduled monuments was produced. This embankment forms the tidal limit of Bellhaven Bay, and follows the course of the River Tyne almost as far inland as Tyninghame Bridge. It is shown on the OS 6" 1st edition County Series, and appears to be largely unchanged to date. OS 6" 1st edition County Series 1854, Haddingtonshire sheet 6.
