Site recorded during a rapid coastal survey undertaken by GUARD of the S shore of the Firth of Forth from Dunbar to Stirling and along the N shore of the Forth to the Fife border. A gazetteer of all sites including listed buildings, designed landscapes, scheduled and unscheduled monuments was produced. Full details of the survey can be consulted in the report held by the NMRS.

These consist of a double row of concrete blocks running parallel to the shore at Longniddry Bents. The blocks run for approximately 1km through the dunes at approximately 50m distance from the shore. They are of cast, smooth, reinforced concrete. At NT 4330 7635 the concrete blocks appear on the shore running approximately north-south. The ones in the sea have been broken up and are little more than piles of concrete rubble, as they run inland they become obscured by the sand dunes and grass. The anti-tank blocks are visible along the shoreline on 1946 aerial photographs extending from NT 4145 7590 to 4340 7670. B58 7176-7, 15/4/46.

A double line, occasionally single line, of anti-tank blocks along Seton Sands.
J A Guy 1997; NMRS MS 810/5, 128, 132, 133
The line of anti-tank blocks can be followed in a WSW direction from N of the car park at NT 4353 7666. A group of four blocks survives on the beach near the car park with two more on the highest point on the dune system. Further SW the line continues amongst and through dense vegetation on the reverse slope of the dunes immediately S of a path leading to the next car park at NT 4299 7611, where a further group have been removed. The line re-starts W of this car park following the reverse slope of the dunes with further gaps, until the road block (NT47NW 50.01) is reached. Beyond the road block a further few blocks are in situ, but those to the W have been removed.
At least two of the blocks have inscriptions on top, undertaken whilst the cement was still wet, one with a name and date '1940', the other is indecipherable. There may be more blocks with inscriptions, but surface vegetation made any further identification difficult.
The anti-tank blocks and road block are visible on vertical air photographs (106G/Scot/UK 14, 7176-7167, flown 15 April 1946).
