St Andrew's Manse and St Andrew's Cottage, Glebe Road, 1854, Mackenzie & Matthews. Here is the grandeur and style not found in the parish kirk: a severe late-Georgian throwback in granite rubble, a type specimen of two-storey-and-

attic with original canted dormers (corners angled), a solid back wing with pedimented dormers and extensive offices for the servants kept on the minister's stipend of £322.

Taken from "Aberdeenshire: Donside and Strathbogie - An Illustrated Architectural Guide", by Ian Shepherd, 2006. Published by the Rutland Press http://www.rias.org.uk
