Archaeology Notes

NG42NW 1 43 25

"Coire na Creiche", 'the hollow of the spoil', so called from its being a favourite retreat with the proceeds of a raid, was in 1601 the site of a conflict between the MacLeods and Macdonalds, and the scene of what was probaly the last great clan battle in Skye.

M E M Donaldson 1923.
