World War One Audit of Surviving Remains (4 October 2013)

An Ordnance store in Edinburgh Castle was converted into a 60-bed hospital during the First World War. The small hospital was equipped with an operating theatre. The castle hospital dealt with over 100 German casualties after the Royal Navy sunk the German battleship Blucher.
