Archaeology Notes

NN90NW 29 9403 0672

A sheepfold, which is depicted on the 1st edition of the OS 6-inch map (Perthshire 1866, sheet cxxvii), is not shown on the current edition of the OS 1:10000 map (1982).

Information from RCAHMS (PM), 14 August 1996.

The sheepfold has been recorded by oblique aerial photography (RCAHMSAP 1999) overlying a field wall forming the E side of three conjoined turf-banked enclosures or fields. Ephemeral traces of rig can be seen within parts of the enclosures.

Information from RCAHMS (KMM), 3 February 2004.
