Archaeology Notes

NJ91NE 38 9696 1847 and 9698 1849

Vertical aerial photography (OS 75/296/009) has recorded two solid cropmarks about 220m SE of Blairton steading (NJ91NE 13). One of them (NJ 9696 1847) is roughly circular on plan and measures about 17m in diameter; the other (NJ 9698 1849) is probably roughly square on plan and measures up to 20m across. Both probably represent sand- or gravel-pits.

Information from RCAHMS (JRS), 18 April 1996.
