Field Visit (1996)

On a terrace set on the hillslope are the remains of a longhouse [c12m by c3m internally with walls spread to c1-2.5m and c0.8m high] of drystone construction with rounded ends, aligned W-E. The structure has collapsed such that it is difficult to see evidence for internal divisions or a doorway. It seems likely that this is one of the structures shown at Stroan on the c1800 map of the area - but the structures could be those to the W (73).

Some 5-10m to the WSW and slightly up hill are two small drystone structures. The E stone setting is set against a boulder and measures c2m in diameter across contiguous small boulders sticking through the grass to c0.2m high, the stones being set one wide. The E stone setting is c15m to the WSW and measures c3m in diameter across a double thickness of stones [c0.6m wide] sticking through the grass to c0.15m high, with a possible entrance to S.
