Summary Record (10 February 2012)

The cottage originally the home of the head gamekeeper was built as part of J J R Mackenzie's improvements to the estate in the 1840's. The distinctive diagonally set porch and wing may be a later addition. The octagonal timber game larder is an unusual survival.
