Archaeology Notes

HY21NW 39 235 185

HY 235 185 Assessment excavations were carried out in the area of a new access road and parking area planned to serve the proposed development of an Archaeological Heritage centre at Bay of Skaill. Test trenches were dug to a depth consistent with that likely to be disturbed by the development, in consultation with the OIC road engineer. No features of deposits of an archaeological nature were encountered.

EASE 1995

HY 235 185 Three test pits were manually dug at specified locations, in order to assess the sub-surface conditions in advance of the proposed construction of a visitors centre. No features or deposits of archaeological interest were encountered.
