Publication Account (1999)

Nos 79 and 79A High Street (Department of Employment) demonstrate another early nineteenth-century building. On the corner of Castle Lane, this is, reputedly, the oldest house in Nairn figure 22.k &24, once the property of Sheriff Alexander Falconar. His marriage and its twenty-fifth anniversary are commemorated in a gateway, dated 1867, and carved with the initials A F and A B M D, and the motto: vive ut vivas.
