(NG 2888 4182) Dun (NR) (site of)

OS 6"map, Inverness-shire, 2nd ed., (1903)

Dunelireach - the site of a dun, now occupied by a crofters cottage. (RCAHMS 1928)

The Ordnance Survey Name Book (ONB) says the cottage was built probably from the stones of the ancient building. (Name Book 1870)

RCAHMS 1928; Name Book 1870.

The site is still known as Dunelireach and occupies the summit of a low knoll. No traces of a dun now remains and the cottage that occupied its site is itself ruined.

Visited by OS (C F W) 15 May 1961.
