Field Visit (October 2021 - July 2022)
NT 09030 87280 Memorial cleaning, photographic survey and a Total Station survey took place at the Old and New cemeteries at Dunfermline Abbey Churchyards in Fife between October 2021 and July 2022. Inscriptions were checked against database records and amendments made. Additional work was undertaken in January 2022 to record new damage to 18 memorials. The project was undertaken by Archaeology Scotland with volunteers from the Tombstones & Tales @Dunfermline Abbey Churchyards community group and Scottish Veterans Residences.
