Activities

Photographic Survey (September 1963)

Photographic survey of the exterior of Dorlin House, Inverness-shire, by the Scottish National Buildings Record in September 1963. The house has since been demolished.

Note (27 October 2014)

Dorlin House was demolished in 1963 or possibly 1964, by the military, using explosives. Michael Corp, a lieutenant in the Royal Engineers set and fired the charges when serving in the Territorial Army during summer camp in 1963 or 1964 at Stirling. He describes the demolition as text book with the building collapsing in on itself and nothing significant remained standing except the earlier north wing, which may have been originally a chapel, and has now been converted to a cottage.

Information to RCAHMS from Michael Corp, via M Briscoe 27 October 2014.
