Accessing Scotland's Past Project

Delhandy is depicted on the 1972 Ordnance Survey 1:10,000 map as an apparently abandoned farmsteading, comprising one partly-roofed building with an incomplete enclosure nearby, and two unroofed structures, one of which is shown as having two internal compartments and an adjoining enclosure.

In 1872, the 1st edition of the Ordnance Survey 6-inch map shows that Delhandy was in occupation, and at this time comprised six buildings of varying sizes, each shown as being roofed. The steading at Delhandy probably dates to the mid-nineteenth century, as it is not shown on county maps prepared in the 1820s.
