MacIntosh Memorial Church of Scotland, Sydney Mitchell and Wilson, 1890 Austere composition on a steep site built as a free church. The slimly-lit parallel nave and north aisle are staggered at their north-west corner, where a square, crenellated tower anchors the composition. The simplicity of the round arched entrance in the angle has been destroyed by the gothic porch, added c.1900. The full impact of the stark north elevation, now compromised by a (later) flat-roofed hall raised on stilts against the substantial undercroft, is best viewed from Monzie Square below.
