All that survives of the heavy anti-aircraft battery which is situated in a field to the NW of Dounby are four slight mounds. Consisting of four emplacements with command position centrally located to the rear and GL mat (false radar horizon hexagon) to the E. The accommodation camp was in the field adjacent to the road.

The battery is visible on the immediate post-war series of aerial photographs (vertical air photographs CPE/Scot/UK 185 2461-2, flown 1946).

Information from RCAHMS (DE), August 1997.
