Dating from 1864, this was the first lace factory in Newmilns, and is associated with the company Hood, Morton and Cleland. The offices and 'white room' are housed in a two- and three-storeyed yellow-brick building, with a single-storeyed lace weaving shed alongside a terylene knitting shed.
