The new or 'Irish' Church.
Two congregations have to share this church and thus both suffer inconvenience.
The magistrates and Town Council propose that another new church should be built to replace the Old Kirk which is now deserted.

A plan and estimates have been obtained. The plan is 'the model of the Chapel of Ease in the West Kirk Parish at Edinburgh' but the one to be built at Inverness will be larger.
The estimates amount to about ?1000.
