NF97SE 7 c. 97 74

The foundations of a house built by the English 'for a magazine to keep their casks, salt, etc' for a fishery in the time of Charles I, was still to be seen (c.1695) on the island of Vacksay (Vaccasay) in Loch Maddy.

Note (27 June 2011)

A member of the public has reported that an L-shaped arrangement of buildings can be seen on digital aerial photographic imagery (GoogleMaps) on the east coast of Bhacasaigh. The location at which these structures can be seen is at NF 97917 74595. Additional structures may lie to the north-east of this location.
