1923. A position for the wreck of the CLAN MACDONALD is given as 57 36 18N, 004 01 45W or 2.5 miles NE of Fort George.

10 March 1976. The site was searched for by transit sonar, but no contacts were obtained.

Report by HMS ENTERPRISE, July 1975.

Hydrographic Office, 1995.

No description of this wreck, or its location, is apparently available. The loss of this vessel is not cited as such by IG Whittaker (1998), but may be equated with the cited loss of the General MacDonald, for which see NH75NE 8010.

The major artillery fortification of Fort George (NH75NE 3.00) is at NH 76079 56674.
