NO12SE 93 15931 22936

A brick and concrete pillbox set into the NE of a small quarry, NE of Binn farmsteading. It is brick built to a hexagonal format and set on a concrete base, which is exposed to a thickness of 16 inches at the NE corner. The pillbox has four embrasures which have concrete splays and a wooden sill; with each sill having a cut with a rectangular hole measuring 7 x 9 inches for a possible machine gun mounting. Entry is down a flight of eight steps which are protected by a retaining wall at the rear. Entrance is at the rear by a narrow door covered by a flanking wall. The walls are of brick with a concrete floor and ceiling and the roof is also covered in turf and moss.

NO 1592 2291 A brick-built hexagonal pill box overlooking a minor road above the River Tay, and Kinfauns.

NO 1593 2294. . A type 24 brick and concrete built pillbox is situated on the approach road to Binn. It is built into the bank and only three sides are now visible.
