Archaeology Notes

NN74NE 91 78318 45370

Situated at the W end of a stone bridge over the Allt a' Bhealaich on the A827 public road from Kenmore to Aberfeldy, a concrete and stone pillbox.

Internally it measures approximately 14ft by 9ft and the roof is constructed of concrete over wood. The body of the box is an irregular heptagon, with a rear projection entry of rectangular shape with a low 3ft doorway leading to a small chamber. One conrete window 'shutter' is still in place, the others are on the floor. It is generally in a sound condition but is now beginning to be heavily overgrown.

Information from M A Hall (Human History Officer, Perth Museum and Art Gallery), visited 28 May 1995
