A survey of the archaeological features located within Culzean Castle Policies was undertaken by Headland Archaeology Ltd. as part of the Culzean Castle Conservation Framework and Management Plan.

The survey built on the Historic Landscape Survey carried out by Landskip and Prospect in 1993, and identified a number of additional features

Certainly appears to be truncated by Swan Pond though it is a number of metres above the current water level suggesting a very large amount of landscaping. It becomes more difficult to locate once it crosses the current path and heads W towards A19/CUZ37.
