BLACKHOUSE
A programme of archaeological trial trenching was carried out by CFA Archaeology in May 2014 on farmland at
Blackhouse, Reston, Eyemouth Scottish Borders. The trial trenches were
positioned to target a cropmark indicative of a prehistoric pit alignment or
trackway. Other trenches were randomly spread across the area.
The pit alignment was not identified. One feature was noted, this was the base
of a shallow fire pit. It was undated and lay 7m to the north of the projected
line of the pit alignment.
