A programme of archaeological works was carried out as part of the Borders Railway Project. Site 622 was a cairn feature on the eastern edge of the railway bed to the south of Stow. A single trench evaluated the cairn and revealed the feature to be built on made ground and re-deposited natural and contained blocks of concrete within its matrix. This features is modern.
