This building is one of four designed by the architect Edward Cullinan forOlivetti (the others are in Derby, Belfast and Carlisle). All have been sold off and in reuse.

The buildings consisted of separate office modules 'arranged on top of a ground floor made of concrete and cast in situ. The 45 degree pitched roof was created using a prefabricated system of plywood trusses supported at courtyard side by a ight steel frame and on the outside by a series of timber fins' (http://www.edwardcullinanarchitects.com/projects/olivetti.html: retreived 21 November 2013).

Information from RCAHMS (MMD), 20 November 2013.
