LOCHEE JUTE WEAVING
Some of the cottages on Liff Road (46-58 Liff Road, around NO 3754 3181) are identifiable as built for domestic hand loom weavers. The jute power loom factory known as Gray Street Works (NO 3730 3188, NO33SE 290) has surviving buildings of 1878. It replaced a demolished mill founded in 1822.
