There was no evidence of the two wrecks, Regent and Progress, and the lock keeper reports that even at very low tides they are not to be seen. However a photograph on “Am baile” website http://www.ambaile.org.uk/en/item/item_photograph.jsp?item_id=1792 shows them in collision within the confines of the lock and has the caption; 1881 - Two schooners blocking the Caledonian Canal at Clachnaharry, Inverness, 1881. The 'Regent', which was registered in Inverness, was bound for Cardiff while the 'Progress', from the Isle of Man was carrying coal to Muirtown.
