A type 24 pillbox lies to the NE of the railway line, at the foot of a steep wooded slope. The pillbox is partially buried but its shape and some of the loopholes can still be seen. The pillbox has been sealed up but one loophole on the W side is open and the interior had a large firing platform below the forward NW facing loopholes.

This was one of a number of pillboxes around Invergordon, defending the town from landward attack.

Visited by RCAHMS (AKK) 10 October 2012.
