The Finnart Street drill hall is shown on the 2nd edition map (surveyed 1896) as being at NS 27193 76403, at the east end of a large yard which closes off Finnart Street. By the 3rd epoch (surveyed 1912) Finnart Street had been extended SE through the former yard, and the hall had moved to the other end of the yard, onto what was now the south side of the street, at NS 27116 76404. Osborne (2006) describes it as a small hall, but it appears large on the 3rd epoch map.
In 1914 the hall was the HQ and base for "A", "D", "F" and "G" Companies, 5th battalion, Argyll & Sutherland Highlanders.
The hall has been demolished.
