The Rothes drill hall, the Grant Hall, was built in 1898 as the Town Hall, designed by R B Pratt. An elaborate two-storey building with round-headed windows on the lower floor has on one side a single-storey block and a hall behind. It was a drill hall by 1914, when it was the base for "D" Company 6th battalion Cameron Highlanders. It is still in use as a TA centre and as a town hall.
