No. 253. Enclosure, North Craigs.

In broken uncultivated ground towards the foot of the S. slopes of Ranachan Hill, and 185m N of North Craigs farmhouse, there are the remains of an enclosure (Fig.112) measuring 33.5m by 25m within a wall 2.4m to 3.0m thick. The wall has been heavily robbed, and only occassional facing-stones are remain; it follows the crest of a low knoll, and it has an entrance on the WNW opening into the lowest part of the enclosure. The interior is covered with heather interspersed with patches of bare rock, and shows no trace of structures.

Visited by RCAHMS May 1965.
