Keith, Union Street (formerly Cross Street) drill hall, is marked on the 2nd edition OS map and is still in use (extended) as a Territorial Army centre. Described by Osborne (2006) as a complicated group of structures with a hall (with bellcote) adjoining a two-storey administration block. The hall bears the badge of the Gordon Highlanders. In 1914-18 the hall was the drill station for “E” Squadron, 2nd Scottish Horse, the HQ of the 6th Battalion Gordon Highlanders, and the drill station for “C” Company of the battalion.
