RCAHMS - GENERAL Recording Event

Category Recording

No fish trap is to be seen at this site or in the vicinity - clearly the original grid ref is "suspect".

No fish trap was seen in the kilometre to the west of the South Kessock Ferry pier nor was there a small stream and the area is hardly an appropriate place for a fish trap. The beach to the west of the North Kessock pier was investigated and the only fish traps seen were those at Torgorm Point recorded during the CFA/MORA Coastal Assessment Survey of 1998; NH64NW 114 at NH 6349 4821 and NH64NW 117 at NH 6355 4820.

A note on the original SMR record written in 1986 has "this (site) could be confused with fish trap at NH 594 461 (old SMR No NH54NE 54)" - NMRS No NH54NE 30/Canmore ID 77995 (named Whinbrae)
