The Kitchen Garden lies east of the house and stables at the end of Back Drive and is currently a fallow area defined by a north brick wall with east and west projecting wings and lean-to greenhouses/conservatory, and by post and wire fences on the other sides.

The built structures of the Kitchen Garden are a brick wall, along the north side with short stepped wings projecting down the east and west sides of the garden, and lean-to glasshouses against the wall. The glasshouses comprise five compartments of different heights, with the principal more ornamental Conservatory compartment off-centre, second from the east end, and rising above the wall height; projecting porch and raised ridge with cast-iron finials either end. Cold-frames runs along the front of the other four compartments. Entry to the north-west corner of the garden is via the broad gateway from Back Drive.

Abutting the north face of the wall are four brick-built lean-to single-storey rooms with sarked roofs. One is the boiler house, two are used for garden storage, and that backing the conservatory is used as a potting shed.

The outer perimeter of the Kitchen Garden area is defined by a ha-ha and beech hedge, both of which vary considerably in condition.
