Burial-ground, Calgary: This rectangular enclosure, situated on level ground at the head of Calgary Bay, was formerly known as 'Clach Mhuire', the dedication evidently being to the Virgin Mary (Duns 1883). It is bounded by a lime-mortared stone wall of comparatively recent date and there are no visible remains of an earlier boundary, but the presence of two Early Christian grave-markers, both re-used as headstones shows that it is of ancient origin. One stone, bearing an incised cross on each of two opposite faces, measures 0.68m by 0.14m, while the other measures 1.27m by 0.27m. There are no other memorials of a date earlier than 1707.

J Duns 1883; RCAHMS 1980, visited 1974.
