2-storey, 6-bay former police station; regular 5-bay frontage with left (E) bay slightly set back; grey granite ashlar. Centre door flanked by round-headed windows, outer W bay as round-headed pend closed by double leaf plank door; outer right answering bay as slightly recessed arcade with window. Regular 1st floor fenestration; 4-pane glazing in timber sash and case windows. Quoins, wallhead cornice and blocking course raised in centre to principal 5-bay facade; slate roof. Set back at E return gable round-headed entrance with cast-iron spearhead double gates; re-set plaque above dated 1675. REAR: 2-storey and attic, 2-bay residential wing; harled with ashlar margins. Circa 1900 glazed entrance porch enriched with Art Nouveau coloured lights. Single flanking window, single lst floor and canted dormer; 4- and 12-pane glazing. Corniced stacks; slate roof. Long single storey and attic store with entrance, small lst floor windows, centre ridge stack and slate roof extends at rear.

Plaque re-set from 'Saunders Heritage'; dated 1675 and initialled IG IS. (Historic Scotland)
