NO 2187 3779 An evaluation was carried out on 3 December
2009 on a proposed residential development. The site was
considered of interest as it is located within the defensive
ditch and bank of the Roman marching camp at Lintrose
(NO23NW 5). A possible linear earthwork, identified running
through the site on the 1st Edition OS map, could have
potentially related to the Roman defences. No significant
archaeological deposits were recorded and all finds related
to 20th-century use of the site. No remains of the linear
earthwork were recorded and any remains appear to have
been removed during modern landscaping of the area.
