NS 2480 4140 A watching brief was maintained 27 January–3

February 2010 on the site of a proposed extension to the existing

station building. The inspection of two holes dug prior to the

start of work revealed the presence of made ground to a depth

of >1.5m. The depth of the made ground suggested that there

was no reasonable possibility of significant archaeological

material being disturbed by the development. All of the

excavation work undertaken was within the made ground and

no significant archaeological deposits or finds were recorded.
