NS27NW 173 centred 2031 7587

See also NS27NW 137.

Scheduled as 'Cloch Lighthouse, anti-submarine [boom netting] tethering points 15mn and 10m SW of... the remains of two steel and concrete tethering points for an anti-submarine boom [NS27NW 137] and dates to the Second World War. The monument is located on the foreshore of the [Firth of] Clyde below the Cloch Point Lighthouse.'

Information from Historic Scotland, scheduling document dated 31 March 2011.

The location assigned to this record remains unverified. Cloch Point is at NS 205 760 and Cloch Lighthouse (NS27NW 16) at NS 20319 75877.

These structures evidently represent the E end of the Cloch-Dunoon anti-submarine boom defence barrier (NS27NW 137), which was installed to protect shipping within the inner firth.

Information from RCAHMS (RJCM), 3 June 2011.
