Dunbeath Bay [name centred ND 164 291].
Wick, 18th Aug. A small sloop, with salt, went to pieces at the entrance of [the] Dunbeath river.

The location assigned to this record is essentially tentative. The Dunbeath River enters the North Sea at ND 165 293.
The loss of this vessel is not cited by I G Whittaker (1998), possibly suggesting her successful recovery.
