27 February 1985. A small steam coaster, called the PATTERSONIAN, was wrecked off the Mull of Oa, on the 11 September 1945, whilst carrying RAF stores to and from Port Ellen.
Report taken from a letter by S I Blackburn dated 17 February 1985.

19 February 1975. A steamship was wrecked near the Mull of Oa, Islay at 55 34 43N, 006 16 44W.

27 February 1985. A letter was received giving confirmation of the above from S I Blackburn, dated 17 February 1985.

(Classified as steel steamship, with general cargo: former name cited as Blaydonian, and date of loss as 11 September 1945). Pattersonian: this vessel was wrecked at Rudha na Leac, Stremnish.
Registration: Newcastle, Bult 1915. 315grt. Length: 41m. Beam: 7m.

The location cited by UKHO is accepted. Neither Rudha na Leac nor Stremnish is noted as such on the current edition of the OS (GIS) MasterMap, but Stremnishmore steading (NR34SW 68) is at NR 31084 40846.
This vessel evidently stranded.
