This building is the earliest school building to survive on the site, and was probably the Board School erected in the village following the Education Act of 1872. There were three classrooms, two accessed by a corridor leading from the door on the south front, and the other by a door in the south east corner next to the attached schoolhouse.
Information from Anne Cassells, 10 July 2008.
