NM55NE 8002 c. 59 59

N56 40 W5 56

NLO: Oronsay [name cited NM 59 59]

Loch Sunart [name centred NM 75 60].

Possibly on map sheets or NM55NE.

(Classified as yacht: no cargo specified, but date of loss cited as 31 July 1933). Star of the South: wreckage found on [the] Isle of Oronsay, Loch Sunart.

(Location of loss cited as N56 40.0 W6 0.0).

I G Whittaker 1998.

The location and map sheet assigned to this record are essentially tentative. The vessel may have foundered offshore and the wreckage blown into the loch, although the relatively narrow entrance makes this appear improbable.

Information from RCAHMS (RJCM), 7 April 2008.
