NG41SE 8001 unlocated

NLO: Soay [name: NG 44 12]

Soay Sound [name centred NG 44 16]

Loch Scavaig [name centred NG 49 15]

Skye [name centred NG 45 35].

Possibly on map sheets NG41NW, or NG41SE.

(Classified as Lugsail [lugger]: no cargo specified, but registration cited as ??142, and date of loss as 15 October 1901). Fisher Lass: this vessel was lost off Soay [Skye].

Registration: Stein. 14 tons register. Length: 11m.

(Location of loss cited as N57 7.0 W6 10.0).

I G Whittaker 1998.

The map sheet assigned to this record is essentially arbitrary. The extensive island of Soay lies to the SW of Skye, between Skye and Rhum (Rum), and across the W side of the ill-defined entrance to Loch Scavaig.

Information from RCAHMS (RJCM), 25 February 2008.
