NLO: Loch Moidart [name centred NM 682 733]
Cul Doirlinn [name: NM 665 721].
(Classified as Auxiliary Ketch, with cargo of coal and anthracite: date of loss cited as 31 July 1924). Snowflight: this vessel stranded near Turrin Castle [Castle Tioram], Dorlin [Doirlinn], Loch Moidart. All gone, but constructive total loss?
Registration: Kirkcaldy. Built 1898. Length: 19m. Beam: 6m.
(Location of loss cited as N56 47.0 W5 50.0).
I G Whittaker 1998.
The location assigned to this record is essentially tentative. Dorlin is not noted as such on the 1997 edition of the OS 1:50,000 map, but Cul Doirlinn is noted at NM 665 721; Dorlin House (NM67SE 21) is at NM 6647 7211. 'Turrin Castle' is presumably to be equated with Castle Tioram (NM67SE 1), at NM 66211 72431.
