NM69NW 8002 unlocated

NLO: Sound of Sleat [name centred NG 72 09].

(Classified as sloop: no cargo specifed, but date cited as 24 February 1821). Peggy & Kitties: this vessel was seen dismasted and abandoned. Presumed [to have] since foundered. [Prize].

Registration: Leith. 77 tons burthern.

(Location cited as N57 0.0 W5 54.0).

I G Whittaker 1998.

The map sheet assigned to this loss is essentially arbitrary, being derived from the unverified location (presumably of sighting) that is cited by Whittaker. The date cited is also presumably that of report.

It remains unclear whether and where the vessel subsequently stranded or foundered.

Information from RCAHMS (RJCM), 14 March 2008.
